Eliza Price
Eliza Price was born in Perry, GA and then moved to St. Simons Island, GA at a young age. She is now based in Athens, Ga where she attends the University of Georgia and studies interior design. Eliza has been painting, creating and seeking beauty for as long as she can remember. She is a watercolor artist whose work is influenced by the marsh scenes of her hometown, traditional interior spaces, and wildlife. Eliza sees beauty in the colors, patterns and scenes she passes in her day to day life which allows further inspiration to grow within her. Her most recent body of work has been game birds. The traditional silhouettes of flying or sitting quail and pheasants are brought to life with quirky combinations of color and personality unique to each bird.
"I love the idea of juxtaposing a traditional subject with abstraction through the playful use of the color and pattern. The way that varying combinations of these elements can alter the personality of a work is what makes me giddy each time I sit down to paint."
