Maggie Thomason

Maggie Thomason is an abstract artist based in Gainesville, GA. After growing up with sisters in both Georgia and Virginia, Maggie followed her love of art and design to the College of Architecture at Auburn University. Graduating with a degree in Industrial Design, Maggie's art is heavily influenced by her time in Auburn and by the experiences that followed. Whether in her paintings or in her collages, layering, texture and structure all appears as odes to her training in technical drawing and drafting as well as her years spent working in the home furnishings and interior design industries. A few of her favorite influences are artist Henry Matisse, textile designer William Morris and Architect C. F. A. Voysey. She currently works out of her home, where she lives with her husband, son, daughter and faithful studio companion, a yellow lab name Charlie
